Biography
Amanda was born in 1879. She became involved with a married man, Sam Slayton, in late 1895. She became pregnant out of wedlock and had a son named Pearl.[1] By 1900, they were living together. They had another child.[2] The divorce from his wife Sarah was final in 1901, and Sam and Mandy were married.[3] They had a large family. In 1950, she was living with her daughter Rosie.[4] Mandy died in 1951.[5]
