Biography

Joseph was born in 1815. He passed away in Los Angeles, CA on 18 Oct 1889 (while visiting his son). He was Ontario Crown Timber Agent from 1854 to 1889 and Justice of the Peace for 14 Ontario counties. He was appointed Captain of the First Battalion of Belleville by Sir Edmund Walker Head, Baronet, Governor-General of British North America on 11 October 1860. He married Jane Devlin on 7 January 1849 at St Thomas Church, Belleville, Ontario by Rev. John Grier. They had 8 children of which 5 survived childhood.
