Hi Shirley,

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you recently created a profile for a pre-1700 ancestor.

There have recently been some updates to the Pre-1700 Profile help page and the Pre-1700 Quiz since you took it in January 2015. Please review both and let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You will notice that the wording has been modified to more fully explain the sourcing needed for pre-1700 profiles.

We're looking for reliable sources to add to the various lists. Did the MyHeritage profile include some sources which would be good additions?

Hi Shirley, Thanks for the addition to Lt. Sam Smith's profile. The living expert on this family, Kristina Turner, says he could have been a son of John Smith or Samuel Smith. She has researched Lt. Sam extensively in England, and I think she is probably correct that we can't tell which man was his father. At this point, it would probably take yDNA from one of his brothers to know which family he came from. I wonder if he had any brothers? Kristina has copies of some church records for the family.

Hi Shirley, thanks for suggesting that merge. I found a good source and sorted out the Brinton relationships. You and I are 9th cousins. Cheers, Heather

I see where you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
