Biography

The following biography and sources were submitted by long-time Weaver researcher, Jim Bass.

According to the probate records minutes filed in 1851 with the White Co., TN courthouse, Samuel Weaver had a daughter named Racheal Yoakum. Further research by long-time Weaver researcher, Carol Brookheart, revealed that Rachael married John Yoakum. They moved to Montgomery, IL about 1830. Rachel died about 1866.

Rachel and John had the following known children. Based on the numbers of children in their household in 1830 and 1840, there were probably more children:

• Margaret Yoakum McWilliams, 1810–1899
• Valentine Washington Yoakum, 1812–1858
• Martha Yoakum McWilliams, 1816–1902
• William Jefferson Yoakum, 1828–1883

The other children are believed to be:

• Nancy Yoakum - married 4 times in Hillsboro, IL
• Isaac Yoakum - moved to El Dorado, California.
• William Yoakum - moved to El Dorado, California
• George Yoakum - died in Madison County, IL
• Elijah Yoakum - died in Alton, IL
• Sarah Yoakum
