Christopher Aaron Webb South African 1820 Settler and Descendants
Christopher Aaron was the son of Christopher and Mary Webb (1820 Settlers). He was born on 4 August 1846, in Grahamstown, where his father was a shoemaker. He was baptized in the Methodist Church, Grahamstown, on 17 December 1847. [1].
His daughter Ethel May was born on 26 May 1877, and baptized in Grahamstown on 9 June 1877.[4] A second daughter was born on 4 February 1879.[5].

He acquired property at Tyinira, Transkei (now Eastern Cape, South Africa) in 1882, from W. Hedding [6] and was resident there by 1883 [7] . A general trading license was issued to him to trade at Nqamakwe, in January 1888 at a cost of 10 pounds.[8]. He was registered at Tyinira as a trader and butcher in 1903 [9].
He died at his home at Tyinria, in the Nqamakwe district, Transkei on 4 July 1907, at age 60 years, 11 months of acute congestion of the lungs.[10].
His oldest son, Robert Godlonton was present. He was buried in Butterworth Cemetery on 6 July 1907.[11]

Ethel May Webb[2] (26 May 1877 - 1953) married Charles William Pearce[2]. She had six children.[13][14]
The birth of a daughter was reported in 1879. Unclear who this was. Presumably she died in infancy. "Birth at King William's Town on 4th February 1897, the wife of Mr. C. A. Webb of a daughter".[21]
