John Webb was born in St Mewan, Cornwall, England.

John, the son of Francis Juliffe and Amy (Unknown) Web was born in 1821 and christened on 21 August of that year at St Mewan, Cornwall.^[1]

Marriage

John may have been married twice. He married 1) Caroline Vian on 25 May 1854 at St Mewan, Cornwall.^[2]Caroline's age is 24 and her father's name is John Vian. John likely migrated to Australia following the death of his first wife.It is not known at this time if there were children from this union.

John married 2) Harriet Tremethick, the daughter of Edwin and Elizabeth Jane (Truscott) Tremethick on 14 July 1862 at Clunes, Victoria, Australia. They had one child:

1. Emma Webb (b. 1864; d. 1923), m. 1881 at Australia, Ernest Edgar Arthur
