Mary Webb was born in about 1822 in West Derby, Lancashire.

Mary married John Greener on 18 Apr 1841 at St Peter's Church in Liverpool, Lancashire. Both were minors (under the age of 21) and neither had been married before. John was a glass cutter living in St Johns Lane; Mary was living in Clayton Square. Their fathers were James Greener (glass blower) and Edward Webb (labourer). The witnesses were Ralph Denton and Maria Cummins.

Their daughter Jane Anne Greener was christened on 9 Oct 1842 at St John the Evangelist Church in Knotty Ash, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was given as labourer, and the family's address as West Derby.^[1]

Their son Nicholas Greener was born in 1844 in West Derby. His birth was registered in the last quarter of 1844, in West Derby district.
