Biography

Al Oliver Weberg Webb was born on 1 May 1893[1] in Park River, Walsh, North Dakota.[2] He Anglicized his Norwegian surname of Weberg to Webb.

In 1900, Alfred Weberg lived in Park River, Walsh, North Dakota, with his parents, Ole P. and Gustava Weberg, and 4 brothers and sisters.[3]

When he registered for the World War 1 Draft, Al Oliver Webb said he was 24 years old. He lived in Scoby, Montana, and worked for himself as a carpenter. [2]

Al Oliver Webb was inducted into the Army at Plentywood, Montana on September 18, 1917. He was assigned to Company A of the 362nd Infantry, serving overseas from July 6, 1918 until November 9, 1918, when he was hospitalized with severe injuries. He was honorably discharged with 35% disability on March 28, 1919.[4]

Al Oliver Webb died on 5 April 1967 and, as is appropriate for his sacrifice, was buried at the Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park, Seattle, King, Washington, Veterans Memorial Cemetery - Pearl Harbor Section, under a military gravestone.[1] Al's obituary said that he was survived by his wife Ruth, daughter Mrs. David Frazier of Kalamazoo, Michigan, a sister Mrs. Olina Medfort of Saskatchewan, and a brother Rudolph Webb of Vancouver, British columbia.[5]
