At 11 years old, he walked behind the family wagon with 2 cows tied on in 1806, from Pennsylvania to Ontario area in Canada. In 1825 he married Deborah Taylor who had emigrated from New Jersey to Canada with her family. In the spring of 1937 they moved to Seneca County, Ohio accompanied by 3 sons and 3 daughters. In the fall of 1847, they moved to Pulaski County, Indiana then in the spring of 1848, they moved to Polk township, Marshall County, Indiana. Isaiah was an avid deer hunter. He passed away there, in 1881 and is buried in Polk Cemetery ,
