Edward (George) Webb was born about 1776 in England. Nothing is known of Edward/George Webb, how or when he arrived, so it can be assumed that George/Edward actually arrived with an alias or a variance of his name. He was possibly a Convict, but it has not been determined.
The first indication there is of a Edward Webb is when he married Mary Johnson on 15 January 1810 in Sydney City, New South Wales, Australia, using the name 'Edward' Webb[1][2] and their son George was born in 1811, with his parent's named 'George' and Mary.
The marriage ended by mid to late 1811 as Mary had a daughter Maria Crumpton on 12 July 1812 with Thomas Crump.
In the Census of 1828, Mary Johnson's daughter, Harriet Crump was recorded as being a boarder at Geo. Webb's home, which makes sense, as he was the father of her half brother George, her mother's first husband[3].
George died in 1835 in New South Wales, Australia [4].
