Elizabeth was the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah (Strout) Webber, born in what was to become the State of Maine on 26 Mar 1749.^[1] Records differ on her birthdate, one placing it on 4 Feb 1750, and another in 1744.^[2] There was another Elizabeth Webber, daughter of Josiah Webber, born on 4 Feb 1750 in Harpswell.^[3]

She married Walter Meryman/Merryman/Merriman II, son of Walter and Elizabeth (Potter) Meryman/Merryman/Merriman on 14 Feb 1771 at Harpswell, Cumberland, Massachusetts Bay.^[4]

Their mother's name is alternately Betsy, Betty and Elizabeth and is always paired with her spouse, Walter Merriman.

Research Notes

• Date of death is said to be 13 Feb 1791, though a record for same has not been found. This date DOES correspond to the date of birth of her son Benjamin. Perhaps other researchers meant to record her date of death as AFTER 13 Feb 1791, but that is conjecture. A record needs to be found.
