Ernest came into a large family with seven older siblings (one of his siblings, a baby brother, died the day after birth - before he was born[8][9]). His older living brother and sisters were:
Ernest spent the rest of his childhood living in Ward County, learning to farm[36][37] amongst the three towns of Donnybrook, Carbondale, and Aurelia (all within 10 miles of each other)[6][7].
In March of 1914 (at 14yo), Ernest attended his sister Katherine's wedding on their parents Homestead in Aurelia, North Dakota[38]. It was the last time the family would be all together for many years to come[38].
Military
In 1918, Ernest joined the North Dakota Military Men headed for World War I[3][37].
Private First Class Ernest Weber served in the United States Army in World War I Service started: 08 Jan 1918 Unit(s): Air Service Signal Corps, 324th Aero Squadron, 84th Aero Squadron Service ended: 27 Jul 1919
After leaving the military, Ernest moved back onto his parents Homestead in Carbondale (Aurelia), North Dakota[39]. He stayed there until the entire family migrated West to Silverton, Marion County, Oregon (by 1922)[40][41].
Back to Work
In 1927, Ernest had managed to injure himself and travelled to the veterens hospital in Tacoma, Washington for treatment[42]. He healed quickly though! A month later, he took a job in Washington picking apples, yielding more than 1700 boxes over the month long gig[43].
In 1935, shortly after his parents celebration, Ernest was visited by his sisiter, Pearl, and brother, George, and their families at his home in Portland, Oregon[50].
In 1938, Ernest was visited by his father, George, while he was receiving treatment in Portland, Oregon for his heart[51].
There is another Son that was born around 1940 that is believed to still be living. His information has been withheld for privacy.
I think it's possible that Ernest worked as a Mail Carrier well past 1940 but I wasn't able to find evidence to prove or disprove that fact.
