Olive Tyler Patterson
Mrs. Oliver Tyler Patterson passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Stringham on Water street at one o’clock Wednesday morning, February 6, after an illness of more than a year.
Mrs. Patterson was born in Lockport, N.Y., in 1865, the daughter of Alvin and Catherine Enderton Webster. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Webster came with her children to Lewis where later the daughter Olive married at 16 years of age Wade L. Tyler of Lewis. To them were born eight children, five of whom, one daughter and four sons, survive. Mrs. Gertrude Stringham, and William, Harold, Rupert, and Robert Tyler, also twenty grandchildren. About twelve years ago Mrs. Tyler married Albert Patterson of Elizabethtown, who survives. There is also a sister, Mrs. Cora Butler, who resides in Springfield, Mass.
The funeral was held at 2p.m. on Friday at the Congregational church in Lewis. Six of her grandsons acted as bearers. Interment was in the Lewis cemetery

1920 Census (Elizabethtown, Essex County, New York - Roll: T625_1111, Page: 8B, ED: 44). Olive is living with a Mabel Patterson next door to her daughter Gertrude Stingham. She’s still listed as being married.
1930 Census (Elizabethtown, Essex, New York; Roll: 1437; Page: 1A; Enumeration District: 5) – Olive, now named Olive Patterson, is a chambermaid at a hotel. Her son Robert S. Tyler lives one street over from the hotel. This is the last census that Olive appears in, since she dies in 1935.

As Mrs. Olive Tyler and little daughter were returning to their home at Irwin Lee’s on Burpee Hill one day last week, the horse became frightened and threw them out and demolished the wagon. With the exception of some slight bruises, they escaped serious injuries.
