Biography

Paul Wedding is one of twins.

Paul, twin son of Lorenza "Lou" Wedding and Salina "Lena" Luckett,[1] was born 19 August 1919 in Stafford County, Virginia.[2][3] He grew up with his twin sister in a farming family that owned land in Aquia, Stafford County, near Mound. In 1920, the household included his parents Lou (age 43, farmer) and Lena (37), one-month-old twins Paul and Pearl I., and their siblings Ashton C. (16, farmhand), Lewis "Roy" (13), Mamie (12), Mary Lee (8) and Eugene Phillip (4).[4]

By 1930, Paul E. (10) and Pearl I. (10) lived with their parents Lou (age 53, farmer) and Lena Wedding (47) and the other two left at home: Mary L. (18), Eugene (14).[5] Only the 20-year-old twins Pearl (typist) and Paul (apprentice carpenter) remained with their parents Lou (63, farmer) and Lena Wedding (57) in 1940.[6]

Paul was a carpenter on 4 December 1941, when he enlisted for military service during World War II.[7]

On 14 February 1946 in Alexandria, Virginia, he married Fonda Marie Nutt,[1] daughter of Anthony David Nutt and Monna Lenore Washburn.[1] Together they had at least four children.

Paul died 27 December 1994 in Fairfax County, Virginia,[2] and was buried at Quantico National Cemetery in Quantico, Prince William County, Virginia.[3]
