Hi Ralph,

The United Kingdom Project has not been active since 2018 and we are now completely closing it down. We are removing all UK project badges. If you still have an interest in the UK and have not already joined another project, then you will need to join the England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales Project by answering one or more of their G2G posts. If your interest is in the British Isles and British Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories, then please contact me directly.

Regards Joan

It’s time for a Project check-in!

Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.

What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?

This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.

Hi Ralph,

Sorry it took me a few hours.. I was at work.. Go to this project page, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:1776 and look 3/4 way down for the sticker... You will need to have place it below the Biography Header of Ogden or whatever ancestor.. I will post it here without these two of these ( { ) on each side.

1776 Sticker |image= |rank= |unit=

for rank, put the rank your sources tell you and do not abbreviate the rank

for the unit, Select the unit from the category page of existing units; if the unit named category does not already exist, please follow the categorization guidelines for creating it or ask for help. Please do not use abbreviations and no unit smaller than Regiment/Brigade. If Regiment or Brigade is not known, use a higher unit that you do know.

Also there are examples on the page I listed for you to follow.

I hope this helps,

Mary, Project Coordinator

Hi Ralph,

I left you a message about a week ago to let you know about the restructuring of the Wales Project into new teams. I have not yet heard back from you with your team(s) selection and e-mail address so I can get you added to the project’s Google group. I hope you are well and that things are ok in your part of the world.

Just to make sure, I’ll wait another week to hear back from you and if I haven’t heard by this time next week I’ll go ahead and remove you from the project. You would, of course, be most welcome to rejoin at a later date.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Susie :-)

Hi Ralph,

As you will have seen, we have been doing some restructuring in the Wales Project and are now organising ourselves into different teams. Please have a look at the new project pages, and let me know which team(s) you would like to be in.

Please can you also send me your e-mail address? I can then make sure you are introduced to your Team Leaders, are in the Google Group, and receive an invitation to join our Discord server.

Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the Wales Project that you respond to these check-ins.

Many thanks,

Susie, Wales Project Co-Leader

Hi Ralph,

I sent you a message a while ago on behalf of the England Project Leaders and have yet to heard back from you. I hope you are well.

One of the requirements of membership in the England Project is that you respond to the six-monthly check-ins.

If I don’t hear from you in the next week or so I’ll assume you no longer wish to be in the project and go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to rejoin at any time via the G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Susie :-)

Hi Ralph,

On behalf of the England Leaders, I wanted to say a huge thank you for all your contributions towards the project in the past six months as a Team Member for Staffordshire and Middlesex. We've achieved a great deal during this time and we couldn't have done it without you.

Are you happy to stay in your current teams and the project as a whole? Are there any other teams you'd like to join? What are we doing well, and what would you like to see us doing differently moving forwards?

Please respond to this message via e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks,

Susie, England Project Leader :-)

Hi Ralph,

Welcome to the Staffordshire Team. Is there anything in particular that you’d like to get involved with? Our main activities at the moment are tackling the long list of Unsourced profiles for our county, and adding brief descriptions and links to the places listed in “Staffordshire, Places”.

Although I'm not related to the Wedgwood's I have a personal interest as several generations of my Stanway ancestors worked at Etruria.

Regards John

Hi Ralph, how are you ?

Thanks for choosing to remain in the Ireland Project. The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details. The Teams are :-

1. Categories Team
2. Counties Team
3. Managed Profiles Team
4. Membership Team
5. Profile Improvement Team
6. Topics Team
7. Diaspora

? Can you let me know which team(s) you’d like to join.

Many thanks,

Hi Ralph,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Hello Ralph, It's a pleasant surprise to run across a fellow alumnus on the WikiTree project!
