In 1870, she was living with her parents and siblings in Warwick, Orange, New York.[1] By 1875, the family had moved to Hardyston, Sussex, New Jersey,[2] and in 1880 and 1885 they were located in Vernon, Sussex, New Jersey.[3][4]
At the age of 21, Sarah married John B. Morgan on May 22, 1889, in Sussex County, New Jersey, when he was 28 years old.[5] They had four children - Cecil M. (died in infancy), Edith (died in infancy), Helen, and Nina Jean.
John died in January 1898, leaving Sarah pregnant and mother of a two-year old. In 1900, she was living with her two children at the home of her parents in Vernon, Sussex, New Jersey.[6] In 1910, she headed a household with her daughters in Hardyston, Sussex, New Jersey (next door to her sister Frances and family), and worked as a dressmaker.[7] In 1920, she lived with her daughter Helen Babcock and family in Easton, Northampton, Pennsylvania.[8] She lived with her daughter Nina Buss and family in Phillipsburg in 1930 (and next door to her daughter Helen) and in Pohatcong, Warren, New Jersey in 1940.[9][10]
She died sometime after 1940 (when she appears in the census in New Jersey). [There is a death record for a Sarah E. Morgan in Warwick, Orange, New York for February 25, 1945, which may well be her.][11]
