Westmoreland ss/ At a Court held for the said County the 29th day of August 1716 - POPE's ackno to WEEKES NATHANIEL POPE acknowledged a Deed of Guift of a Negroe from him to JANE his Grand Daughter, the Daughter of JOSEPH WEEKES, to be his act and deed which JOSEPH on behalfe of his Daughter accepted and on his motion the Deed was ordered to be recorded.[1]

Jane must have passed away before Jan. 30,1717,she is not mentioned in here fathers will made on that date.

1717 Jan 30th WILL of JOSEPH WEEKES of Washington Parish, Westmoreland County, Dated 4 Jan, 1716. To my loving wife Mary Weekes, my two Negroes Pony and Pegg. To my son, William, my Negroman Tom, alsoe one feather bed and furniture and one cow and calf. To my daughter Sarah, one cow and calfe. My two friends Nathll Pope and Mark Cullum , guardians to my two eldest children Sarah and William and to take the profitts of their estates for their maintenance and education. The rest of my estate to my wife Mary and her heires. My wife, executrix. Signed, JOSEPH WEEKES, Wit: John Cooper and Daniel Higdon.

Jane was not mentioned in her mother will either.

KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I MARY ELLIOTT of Washington Parish in County of Westmoreland, Relict of WILLIAM ELLIOT of said County and Parish. Gent. deced., as well for the Maternal affection and filial love which I have and do bear unto my well beloved Son BENJAMIN WEEKS, as also for diverse other good causes & considerations me att this present time especially moving, hand and by these presents do give unto BENJAMIN WEEKS my Son and his heirs, six hogs two year old, two Soaves and piggs, three coves and calves, one Steer four year old, six sheep, a young Mare, one feather bed and furniture, four dishes, twelve plates three basons, one iron pot and one Chest, all which goods and chattles to be delivered att or upon the day BENJAMIN WEEKS shall contract Matrimony and also a Negro man named Toney and a Negroe woman named Sue with her increase, one oval table, four Gold rings, one case of bottles to be delivered unto BENJAMIN WEEKES att the day of my decease; To have and to hold all the goods chattles and Negroes and all other the premises unto BENJAMIN WEEKS his heirs freely and quietly without any matter of price claim or demand of me said ELLIOT or any other person: And I MARY ELLIOT do warrant and defend for ever all the premises from the claims of all persons: In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty fifth day of March Anno: Domini 1729 Signed Sealed & delivered in ye presence of us JNO. COOPER. JOHN STURMAN MARY ELLIOTT Westmoreld, ss, At a Court held for the sd. County the 26th day of March 1729 MARY ELLIOTT personally acknowledged this Deed of Gift by her passed to her Son, BENJAMIN WEEKS, to be her proper act and deed which at her instance is admitted to Record Test G. TURBERVILE, C. C. W. Recorded the 29th day of March 1729[2]
