Biography

Uriel was a school teacher, men's wear salesman, and a World War I veteran, serving in France. He landed in France Oct 7, 1918, fought in the battles of St Nazaire and Brest. He returned to the US Apr 24, 1919. Armistice was signed Nov 11, 1918. He was honorably discharged May 24, 1919. He had already registered and purchased books to attend veterinary school at Auburn when he was drafted into the army. He and Vela had 3 children: Vivian Pearl, James Lowe, and Mary Jo.
