Sam was born on 20 may 1961 to Richard Royal and Marjory Marie (Moyer) Weeks in Coldwater, Michigan.
Sam spent much of her childhood moving around as her parents divorced prior to her being five years old. Diana is her given name however she became more comfortable with her nickname, one her mother tagged her with as when she was around five years old.
Sam attended several schools. Those of memory include Plainwell, Otsego, Allegan, Mendon, and Springfield all in lower Michigan. Sam learned to be adaptable.
Sam excelled and enjoyed athletics all through high school and into her one year at Fort Wayne Bible College. She made several life long friends from college.
Sam married on 10 April 1986. This marriage ended in divorce in 2000. Three children came of this marriage.
For the many trials Sam endured in her lifetime, she always tried to put God first in her life. She always tried to let his grace and strength speak through her life. All her gifts and tools were His to use at his pleasure.
Wherever Sam went, she managed to make friends. Differences did not matter. People were just people.
Photography and genealogy were hobbies -- so was helping people if they needed help.
Someone once described her friendship as one like a comfortable recliner chair they could just sit back and settle into and put their feet up.
Sam was a jack of many trades from writing feature stories for a local newspaper in a small town where she resided to driving a special needs school bus. She enjoyed substitute teaching, officiating high school athletics, driving tractor down on the farm, fixing things around the house including the electrical. When necessity required it she learned how to drive an 18 wheeler and went on the road. She has worked as a pharmacy technician, and a volleyball and a softball coach. Learning independence as a child was put to good use as an adult.
Sam's mother passed away 26 Oct 2015 after a three year battle with lung cancer. As her mother was widowed, Sam looked after her mother during this difficult time. This is a time considered a gift by Sam.
