Thankful Weeks was born at Dorchester, Massachusetts on April 19, 1699/1700, daughter of Joseph Weeks and Sarah Sumner. [1]
She married Joseph Peirce at Boston on November 23, 1721. [2]
Thankful died at Dorchester on May 2, 1731/2. [1] She is buried in the Old Burying Ground at Dorchester where her inscription reads: Here Lyes ye Body of Thankful Peirce ye Wife of Joseph Peirce. She died May ye 2d 173[1?] in ye 33d year of her age. [3]
Her father, Joseph Weeks Sr., weaver of Dorchester, died intestate. On January 15, 1745/6, his son Joseph Jr. posted bond and was appointed administrator of his estate. [4]
On August 21, 1747 the court indicated that the division of lands to the six children and heirs could not be done without great prejudice. The final assessment being L4145 10s old tenor, brothers Joseph Jr. of Dorchester and Ebenezer of Pomfret, Connecticut, sons of the deceased receiving the real estate, should pay L592 4s 3d a piece to the remaining heirs including:
