Wilber 'Buster' Wehrle
FENNIMORE, Wis. - Wilber "Buster" Wehrle, 88, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005 at Grant Regional Hospital in Lancaster, Wis.
Wilber was born on Feb. 12, 1917, in Werley, Wis. to Samuel and Nora Mae (Taylor) Wehrle. On April 12, 1947, he married Opal Drake in Nashau, Iowa. He married again on Sep. 27, 1988, to Alva Christopherson in Lancaster, Wis.
He is survived by his wife, Alva of Fennimore; his children, Gary (Kathleen) Wehrle of Fennimore, Janet (James) Beffa of La Crosse, Rodney (Jacquelin) Wehrle of Fennimore, Rick (Bonnie) Wehrle of Beloit, Wis.; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Judy (Dennis) Hart of California, Mike (Loreen) Moneypenny of Tennessee, Mary Moneypenny, and a special friend, Jerry Kite of Fennimore, and Kande (Richard) DelVecchio of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Opal on June 20, 1985; daughter, Karen Louise Wehrle; two infant brothers and brother Chester Wehrle; four sisters, Wilma, Merna, Hazel and Helen.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Fennimore United Methodist Church. Pastor Duane Andrus will officiate with burial in Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
