Maria Salome Weicker, daughter of Johann Georg Weicker and Barbara Elisabeth Weicker was born Jul 20, 1721 in Wattenheim, Germany.[1]
The Weicker family came to Pennsylvania in 1724 and settled in Frederick or Providence townships, Philadelphia/Montgomery County, near some of the Kepners.
Maria and Benedict Kepner were married in 1734 in Berne Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, where they still lived in 1756.[2]
Maria and Benedict had eight children:
Jacob (1735-1825)
Bernhardus S. (1739-1809); married Eve Catherine
Johannes (1743, baptized 26 Mar 1744-?)
Hanna (1745-?); married 22Apr 1766 to Franz Roth
Benedict III (1746-?); married 10 Jan 1766 to Maria Elizabeth Reier
Benjamin (1750-22 Sep 1804); married after about 1770 to Marie Susanna Strauss
Maria Salome died Feb 19,[2] possibly in 1757,[3] in Berne Township, Berks County, Colonial Pennsylvania.[2] (Sidener's book gives 1751, which is impossible if she had children born 1753 and 1756.)[3]
Maria Salome's surname is also given as Winter.[2]
Research Notes
Maria Margaretha and Elisabeth both had Elisabeth Winter as sponsor at their baptisms. Sidener gave Maria Salome's name as Winter.
