Hi, I am Dorothy, a WikiTree mentor!! Are you enjoying your time on WikiTree so far?

Now that you have had a little time to try our site, there are a few more features you may find useful:

For instance, ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards; including some tips on writing biographies

Also a friendly reminder about adding sources and references to your profile. Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes different kinds of sources: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Robert --

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Have fun getting to know your ancestors, and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members love to help fellow genealogists. :-)

You can also join the conversation about the Question of the Week!! This week we’re asking Honoring USA Independence Day - Were any of your ancestors on the "wrong side" in a war?

If you need some one-on-one help, don’t hesitate to contact our Mentors Project. Our volunteer mentors will be glad to help you learn how to use Wikitree.

See you in the branches --

Julie

Robert - I can't confirm your full membership on Wikitree until you edit your TAGS and their comment.

It's best to enter a value that is going to be recognized across the website. So, if you make the TAG a single surname like WEIR and comment family surname, then when you click on it, you'll find some helpful information as well as other genealogists also researching that surname. You can also enter locations like ONTARIO and add info like childhood home, etc. or one for Regiment. When you're following a tag, you're alerted to any new activity through your Daily Feed email. Following a tag doesn't commit you to actively participate in a project or to helping others in any specific way. However, people may reach out to you to collaborate with them when you share the same tags! Lee

Welcome as a guest to WikiTree! We're growing a FREE worldwide family tree, striving for ONE collaborative profile for every person.

A couple suggestions to get you started:

1. Our Honor Code is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree so please take some time to read it.

2. Feel free to ask a question at our G2G forum.

3. Our help pages, top right, have all sorts of useful information.

If you would like to contribute by adding information, click the volunteer button and leave a comment here on your profile to let our greeters know. You should include a little bit about how you plan to contribute to the tree.

Good luck growing your branches ~Michele~
