Second child, Evelyn Priscilla Doreen (known as Doris), born on the 3 March 1906 in Balclutha.
It seems that Doris enjoyed being in the limelight - in 1920, it was reported that she entertained at the 1920's A&P show with a highland fling [1] as well as singing recitals for school concerts.
Doris and Ernest married on March 24 1926 in New Zealand according to BDMNZ records. Their golden anniversary was printed in the Press on 24 March 1976 which stated that they lived at 12 Stansfield Street, Dunedin at the time of the publication. [2]
Doris died, reportedly in an aged care rest home in Christchurch New Zealand, years after her husband Ernie Died. She is reportedly buried at Hampton Cemetary.
Doris's husband Ernie (Ernest Joseph Cleghorn, was born on 6 November 1901 in Hampden, New Zealand. He died on the 15 October 1985 aged 83, in Mornington, Dunedin. Ernie's father was Thomas William Cleghorn, born on the 9 July 1876 in Dunedin. He died on the 24 November 1918 at age 42 in Hampden. Ernies Mother (wife of Thomas) was born on 31 July 1877 in Ophir, Ida Valley, Otago and died on 7 June 1947 aged 69 in Hampden, New Zealand. [3]
