James William Weir served in the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War 1 and attained the rank of Private. His enlistment date was 14 Oct 1916. His next of kin on enlistment was: Mother, Mrs E Weir, Miegunyah, Baduthulla Charleville, Queensland. When he enlisted, his address was Augathella, Queensland His occupation when he enlisted was Labourer. His unit was: 15th Battalion, 24th Reinforcement. His Regimental Number was: 7328. Returned to Australia 19 June 1919. [1] [3]
He died on 17 Jan 1969 in Brisbane, Queensland and was buried in the Mount Gravatt Cemetery and Crematorium, MacGregor, Queensland. [2]
