Sally W. Spencer, 71, Brainerd, died Friday, April 19, 2002, at home.

She was born July 30, 1930, in Brainerd to Fred O. and Margaret N. (Newton) Weis. She graduated from Washington High School in Brainerd in 1948. She married Charles S. Spencer. She worked as a medical technologist at Brainerd Regional Human Services Center for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brainerd.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Michael L. Byer, Hoonah, Alaska, Craig K. Byer, Winsted, and Robert A. Spencer, Rosemount; three daughters, Theresa D. Kanne, Woodbury, Kathryn A. Volkmuth, Princeton, and Elise E. Rosendahl, Clara City; and 13 grandchildren.

Her parents; two brothers, Kirk O. Weis and Willis "Bill" F. Weis; and a sister, Margaret "Betty" E. Charles, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brainerd with Father Glenn Derby officiating. Burial will be in Lake Edward Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph's Hospice or donor's choice.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd and an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
