Harry (Weisz) Houdini is Notable.

The famed magician Harry Houdini was born Erik Weisz on March 24, 1874, in Budapest, Austria-Hungary. He came to the United States with his family in 1878.

The family changed the spelling of their first and last names. So Erik Weisz became Ehrich Weiss ... but it's his stage name that defines him even beyond death.

Harry was hospitalized at Detroit's Grace Hospital in Michigan days after his last show where he passed away due to complications from an erupted appendix. [1]

Harry Houdini died in Detroit on Halloween of 1926, but his impressive escapes are still renowned.

There are lots more sources on his FS FT profile (LZL2-PSV, which I've linked using the FamilySearch Connections app). I don't have the time (nor frankly, the patience) to transfer them to WT.

He had worked in a factory and knew it was good honest work but wanted out. He tried to run and join the circus but his father's death drew him back to care for his family. He was being told he had to go with work that would help him care for his family. He knew he had to live his dream however and for a decade struggled to feed his mom, sister and self as he worked in the sideshow. He eventually made it as the highest paid vaudeville performer of that time, and he did it by doing what he loved instead of what was safe. He is quoted "My chief task has been to conquer fear."
