DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:

Yes, please do clean up this profile, Mel!  :-)

This profile looks like the product of multiple gedcoms and merges, so it needs attention to eliminate duplication, organize the contents, replace the reference numbers in the footnotes with more meaningful citations, insert Ancestry external link templates to restore nonworking Ancestry URLs, etc.

You shouldn't need anyone's permission to tackle this sort of cleanup.

Hi all

Can we clean up all the extra stuff on this profile? Such as Parents Marriage information (remove this section) and all the double information listed under Marriage Information.

I would like to merge Marriage License and Marriage into one nice paragraph listing the children. Also, combine death and burial into a nice sentence.

Would that be ok with all managers?

Good afternoon family,

I am working on my family research project right now. Per my paternal haplogroup, R-M269 (R-M167), I descend from Edward Welborne of Lincolnshire England. I'm here just trying to learn as much as I can. I think all the family that descends from the Welborne's should have the same exact haplogroup as I listed above. I am also in the Welborne family research project on familytreedna. I took the y-37 paternal haplogroup test in late 2017. I am also on gedmatch, ancestrydna, myheritagedna, 23andme, and two other DNA sites. Jamel Smith

Wilborn-123 and Welborn-272 appear to represent the same person because: same dates, same places, same spouse, names seems to be interchangeable.
Welborn-693 and Welborn-272 appear to represent the same person because: Clear Duplicate
Wow found this info on this site It may be useful.

"As New Light preachers moved into the South Carolina-Georgia backcountry, many Regulator families followed their paths. Several sons and daughters of James Welborn Sr. and James Younger moved from North Carolina to the Pendleton district of South Carolina's old Ninety Six District. In 1788, under the leadership of the Reverend Moses Holland, they helped establish the Big Creek Church near the Saluda River. In 1801 James Welborn Jr., a nonslaveholder, served as a deacon. These families had successfully reestablished themselves as solid citizens of the South Carolina backcountry.[44]

Has anyone other than me done any DNA testing in this line? I have found that the DNA helps tremendously in working out some of these issues. Mags

Hello Dee Ann, Lee and Edward. I adopted a line that is a duplicate of this line some time ago. recently while trying to merge what I thought was a duplicate profile, Dee Ann caught that it was not. After closer examination, I see that there are multiple duplicates, mistakes and things that are just plain out-of-whack. I am going to start working my way through all of the Welborns to get this all cleaned up. One thing that will help greatly is any source information you may have to add to your profiles. I will be working on sources and with sources as I go.
