Biography

Elisha Welborn was born in Anderson, Pendleton District, South Carolina in about 1793. He is the son of Aaron W. Welborn and Elizabeth Younger.

Elisha lived in Pendleton, Pendleton District, South Carolina in 1810[1][2] where He married Sarah Crawford in 1813.

He arrived with his family in Rabun County, Georgia in "...the year 1829. On the 8th day of january of that year Elisha Welborn bought from Henry Fricks land lot 12...He served on the grand Jury in 1829...Sherriff in 1833" and "(state) legislature in 1837."[3] He is listed in the 1840 Census for Clayton, Rabun, Georgia as being in Agriculture, which one could take as a farmer.[4][5]

"The following named persons ware drawn to serve in the Jury at the next term of this court, 10 Elish Welborn."[6]

In 1850, it was called The 587th District instead of Tallulah Township: Household #186, Visitation #186 [7]

In 1860 Elisah is shown living with his wife Sarah in House # 61, Town, Rabun, Georgia, United States[9]

He passed away in March of 1870 at the age of 71 of fever in Rabun County, Georgia. He is listed as being married and a farmer.[10]
