James died young, and was buried at the Welch Cemetery.

Son of William Edward Welch and Rebecca Gilliland. William Edward Welch was the son of Isom/Isham Welch and Belinda (Rodgers) Welch. Rebecca Gilliland was the daughter of Wm. "Robert" T. Gilliland and "Eliza" Elizabeth Cain.
