Peter Welch was born in 1832 - probably in Ireland.
He married Frances Curry, 27 February 1854, at the home of her father, Joseph Curry, in Key West, Florida.
The couple had known children - Catherine, Sarah, Mary, Virginia, Ada, Joseph William, Harriet, Euphemia, and Thomas Welch.
Peter Welch was a seaman and ship's carpenter. He died in Key West 9 January 1889 and was buried in the City Cemetery.
