Was he the Moses Weld who served as Town Clerk , Cornish NH 1790, 1791, 1792, 1793, 1794, 1795, 1796, 1797, 1798, 1799 ? And as Selectman of Cornish NH 1799, 1805, 1806? Records say he died in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, but he moved to Cornish, New Hampshire, where he may have died instead.) Age at death: 84.

Deacon Moses Weld was born 22 Mar 1722 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, [1] in Massachusetts.

He married Elizabeth Holbrook 6 Oct 1746. He then married second wife Deborah Faulkner. 11 Jul 1764 • Sturbridge, Massachusetts, USA.[2] He was treasurer of Sturbridge in 1883 and 1886. [3]He died 10 May 1806 (aged 84) in Sturbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts and is buried at Old Burial Ground, Sturbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts, PLOT Row 22, Plot 8. The Book "History of Cornish" reports that he and his wife Deborah stayed in Cornish in their old age, where Elizabeth's daughter Hannah had moved, now Mrs Stone.[4]

His son Moses Jr also lived in Cornish and served as town selectman.

His will was probated in Sturbridge Massachusetts [5]

Weld-503 and Weld-238 appear to represent the same person because: same spouses, same dates. Believe that he died in Mass because grave is there and his will was probated there; he did spend time in Cornish staying with his daughter.
