Biography

See notes under her husband.

Mary's brother (actually half brother) Ebenezer includes Mary and her husband Aaron Graves in his will, which proves her father.

Mary is often considered the daughter of Mary Waite instead of Sarah Smith. It would be very nice if this were true since Mary Waite's family history is so much more interesting. She was captured by Indians along with her mother and some siblings and her father Benjamin chased them until he caught up with them and set them free, However, Mary Waite died in 1704 and Ebenezer's daughter Mary was born in 1707. Ebenezer had married Sarah Smith by then. There is also a baptism entry to show Mary was Ebenezer's and Sarah's child.

Mary was born October 24, 1707, in Hatfield, Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Ebenezer Wells and Sarah Smith Find-a-Grave

Mary Wells married Aaron Graves about 1729 Find-a-Grave

Wells-1093 and Wells-9764 appear to represent the same person because: They are the same person, with the same parents and spouse

Wells-9764 and Wells-1093 are not ready to be merged because: Proven sources should be found and recorded for each profile before we merge them. We will also need to sort out the question of who Mary's mother was - according to the records I have found, Ebenezer Wells and his first wife Mary Waite had several children. Mary then died and Ebenezer married Sarah Smith, having one daughter named Mary with her. It would be very nice to claim Mary as Mary's mother since she has an interesting history.
