Lydia Wells, who married Ralph Chapman in 1642, was “almost certainly daughter of Isaac Wells of Scituate and Barnstable.”[1]
In 1635 Lydia Wells, a servant of William Hatch, enrolled at Sandwich as a passenger to New England on the Hercules. According to Anderson, it is not clear if this Lydia Wells became the wife of Ralph Chapman.[2]
This profile previously said that Lydia was born in 1618 in Marshfield, Plymouth, Massachusetts, which is not possible. The location has been removed. The 1618 birthdate is considered to be an estimate.

On the child list of Isaac Wells (1598-bef.1673), we report this Lydia is "possibly" the his daughter, and there is ongoing collaboration about this on G2G, see especially this answer by Matthew Fletcher and its related comments by Kay Wilson and Brad Stauf on Several issues for profile of Isaac Welles (Scituate/Barnstable) to clear up."
If you feel this action is premature, please post so that we may collaborate further. --Gene
