Lewis Wheeler Wells, eldest child of Elias and Maria (Patterson) Wells, was born 14 Jan 1817 in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.[1] He married in Providence, Rhode Island, 4 Sep 1840, Affa Maria Wells, and he was, as of their wedding, "of Columbia, Georgia."[2] After the wedding, the couple "removed to Savannah, Georgia, where he was a cotton merchant up to the time of the Civil War. [They] then removed to Baltimore, Maryland, where [Lewis] died November 8, 1879. He was an active member of the Episcopal church."[1]
He is interred in Green Mount Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland.[3]
