About John Allen Wells
DNA testing has shown that John Allen Wells is in the same family [W032] as that of William and Jonathan Wells, however John Allen has a 3 marker difference where the brothers have only a 1 marker difference. According to the Wells Research Association, this could mean John Allen Wells was a cousin rather than a brother to William and Jonathan especially since he was a little older. The possibility also exists that John Allen may have had a different mother than William and Jonathan. More DNA testing needs to be done.
A BIOGRAPHY ON REV. AMARIAH BIGGS, M.D. After her untimely death Dr. Biggs married Miss Mary Alva Wells (born May 27, 1820) on December 1, 1838 in Tennessee. She was the granddaughter of the respected Revolutionary soldier William Wells who suffered Valley Forge with General George Washington. [There were two William Wells at Valley Forge. One from VA and one from PA. William Wells from VA married Sarah Westmoreland in 1786 and DNA shows he could not be the father of John Allen.
