Job was born in 1798

He married, first, Sarah Howard in 1822. After her death, he married, around 1835, Elizabeth Shelor

Dated 11 Oct 1860, proved 22 Nov 1860, Job's will leaves bequests for

-- wife, Elizabeth – "my dear wife Elizabeth in testimony of my sincere regard and affection for her"… the plantation during her natural life or during widowhood; named slaves: Cager, Lucinda, Monica, and Adeline; and $3,000. She was charged with caring for their sons John T and William B until age 21
-- son William B. (under 21) -- plantation after Elizabeth's death and a slave named Marshall and one child slave named ?Martha.
-- son, Harry D -- property (acreage in Raleigh County, Virginia) and $500
-- son, Richard -- property (acreage in Raleigh County, Virginia) and a slave named Brock
-- son, George M -- property and a slave boy named Arnold
-- son, John T., (under 21) -- property and a slave boy named Larkin
-- daughter, Rowena -- slave girl named Margaret
-- daughter, Emily -- slave girl named Sally, slave boy named Hammett
-- daughter, Mary Jane -- slave named Joan "and her increase"
--The balance of his estate was to be divided equally among children Richard, George M, John T, William B, Rowena, Emily and Mary Jane. After the death of his wife Elizabeth, her remaining slaves were to be sold and the balance divided among his children
