Florence was born 11 Nov 1845 in Georgia, the daughter of Lewis Wells and Affa Gray.[1] At age five, she lived with her parents and three siblings in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, where her father worked as a bookkeeper.[2] She passed away 20 Mar 1877 in Baltimore, Maryland, and is buried there in Green Mount Cemetery.[1]
