William Clarence Wells was born on 9 April 1891, in Guthrie, Logan, Oklahoma, United States, his father, John William Wells, was 31 and his mother, Mary Eliza Vandiver, was 26. He married Hulda Sofia Curler on 22 April 1949, in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, United States. He lived in Washington Township, Jackson, Kansas, United States in 1900 and Kaw Township, Wabaunsee, Kansas, United States in 1910. He died on 5 September 1963, in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, United States, at the age of 72, and was buried in Orient Cemetery, Grand River Township, Cass, Missouri, United States.
