Disambiguation

The following profiles can be confused and exhibit conflation:

  • James Wells born November 27, 1668 in Haddam, Middlesex, Connecticut, the son of James Wells and Elizabeth Clarke. Elizabeth has extensive Clarke ancestry. Married Rebecca Seldon. Connected to children Susanna, Elizabeth, Mary, but they are not sourced in the narrative.
  • James Wells, born 1668, father of Honour Wells born 1724, who married Frederick Rush. This James was previously shown as the child of James Wells and Elizabeth Clarke, but these are the parents of the Connecticut James Wells, and so they have been disconnected from this James. This James was previously shown as married to Ann Thornborough, born 1690, but there is no evidence of such a marriage. Ann Thornborough has been restored to her Thornborough family as the daughter of Rowland Thornborough, with a revised birth year of 1668 .
  • James Wells, born 1682 in Baltimore County, Maryland, the possible son of James, born England 1640 and transported on the "Nightingale." He is married to Ann Unknown Wells, born 1690. Among their children is Honour Wells born 1724, who married Holmes and Brown.
