Martha Wells was born 12 June 1731 in Hardwick, Worcester, Massachusetts, daughter of John and Martha Wells. [1]
In 1747, Nathaniel Hammond of Hardwick was appointed guardian of Martha, aged about 16 years.[2]
Her husband Elisha Wait(e) served with the rank of a private for Massachusetts during the American Revolution with Colonel May. His wife is Martha Wells. [3]
She married Elisha Waite in 1748.

She died February 2, 1817 in Hatfield, Massachusetts. [5] She is buried in Hill Cemetery, Hatfield. FindAGrave lists her death date as February 21, 1817, a difference of ten days from SAR Membership Application.[4]
