DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Winney by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Winney:
I found through Ancestry.com that Winifred Wells Hawkins was related to me. I can trace my Wells line back to James Wells Sr. (1763 or 1765-1845) Chester County PA. (His son's names were George, John (Kugler... my line), James, David, and Isaiah Wells.) My male cousin took the DNA test and found out we are the W032 Wells line. My father told me that this Wells line was WELSH and not the British line. I have hints of Wells family lines that I am related to... Raymond Wells who owned the Linfield store (in Linfield, PA). He may have been born in Maryland (His mother was Fanny Calloway). Abraham Wells who married Margaret Thomas and lived in New Jersey. (Reba Wells Lafayette was from this family line and was a cousin). I know we are somehow related to the Pratt's possibly through the Wells line. Deacon Isaac Willis (Welles) married Hannah Pratt. Charles and Mary (Edwards) Wells lived in what is now Exton, PA and moved West through Virginia.
I know Wells familes married Welles families and sometimes Wells married Wells.
