"WILL: Henry Wells of Mecklenburg Co. desire to pay all my debts and remainder to my five children of the intermarriage of my first wife Polly Davis [DAU OF ABOVE ELEANOR BARRY DAVIS] and the legacy now in expectancy left my first wife by her uncle William Barry. To William Wells, John Davis Wells, and daughters Sally Taylor Farley formerly Wells and Susannah Lawson Roberts formerly Wells, and Martha Jane Chandler, formerly Wells to them and their heirs. Lastly all my estate both real and personal I give and bequeath to my five children Pamelia Ann Burrows Cumby, Mary Taylor Wells, George Henry Wells, Edward Lewis Wells, and Harriet Early Wells to each of them equally. My wish is that my son Edward Lewis Wells live with my mother and assist her in the management of the plantation for which he shall receive a liberal remuneration.
