Henry Wells III was born in 1898 to Henry Wells II & Rebecca Warren. He married Irma Moore in 1922 and they had two children. They divorced about 1928.
He was wrongly convicted of rape 29 Nov 1938 and was sent to Huntsville Texas State Prison for life. He died after serving @ 20 years of his sentence. “Henry and his brother Stanley were talks into joining the communist party. When they wanted out they were told they could not, and if they did would be killed or ? They both left, and were falsely accused of murder and sentenced to prison. Stanley finally got out, but Henry died in prison." Story (paraphrased) handed down from Henry’s sister Alta Wells.
