Joseph Benjamin Wells was born on 27 Feb 1739 in Sandown, Rockingham, New Hampshire. [1] [2] His parents were Jacob Wells (1710 - 1789) and Ruth (Sargent) Wells (1712 - ). His parents were married 12 Jul 1732 in Amesbury, Essex, Massachusetts [3] [4] [5]

His siblings were:

  1. Joseph Wells b. 27 Feb 1739 (twins) Sandown.
  2. Benjamin Wells b. 27 Feb 1739 (twins) Sandown.
  3. Jacob C. Wells (1749 - 1822)
  4. Dorothy Ann (Wells) Bean (1751 - 1825)

Benjamin married Mary Bean (1745 - 1832) in 1767 in Sutton, Hillsborough, New Hampshire. [6]
