[George Chauncey] He m. secondly, Anne (or Agnes), daughter of Edward Welsh, of Great Wymondly, and widow of Edward Humberston, and dying in 1625 (buried at Barking, Essex)

The Visitation of Hertfordshire carried out in 1634 lists Anne Welch as the second wife of George Chauncy of Gedleston. [11] it also lists George, Charles and Judith as children of this marriage.

Research Notes

Both the Visitation and the marriage record spell the surname as 'Welch'. The source of the spelling 'Welsh' seems to be the book "Memorial to my honored kindred", which carries no indication of where the spelling originated. Having said this, the evidence in favour of 'Welch' cannot be considered definitive.

Welch-2126 and Welsh-132 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same person with different spelllings of the surname.
