Hon David Wemyss, styled Lord Elcho, ADC to Prince Charles Edward Stewart throughout the 1745 Jacobite Uprising, being present at the Battle of Prestonpans 1745, the Siege of Stirling and the Battle of Falkirk 1745/6 and the Battle of Culloden 1746, following which he fled to France and was attainted in absentia 1746, self-styled 6th Earl of Wemyss after 21 Mar 1756 (b. 21 Aug 1721; dspms. 29 Apr 1787), mar. 9 Sep 1776 Baroness Frederique Guillielmine Sophie d'Uxhull (d. 26 Nov 1777), dau. of Baron Charles Frederic d'Uxhull, Seigneur de Manchzell.
