Henry Wentworth, Esq., of Codham Hall, Essex, was a younger son of Roger Wentworth[1] and Margery Despenser.[2] His date and place of birth are not known.
Marriages and Children
Henry married first to Elizabeth Howard, daughter of Henry Howard, Esq.,[1] and Mary Hussey.[2] Their marriage date is unknown, but is estimated to be about 1442.[3] They had seven sons and two daughters.
Roger, Knt.,[1] born in 1465.[2] He married Anne Tyrell[4] and had four children; Roger died 9 August 1539.[2]
Henry Wentworth, Esq., died on 22 March 1482/3.[1][2]Three Branches of the Family Wentworth asserts that Jane (FitzSimon) Wentworth remarried to Philip Fitz Lewes after Henry's death. Evidence supporting that marriage lies in the will of her son, Sir Nicholas Wentworth, which refers to his mother as Dame Jane Fitz Lewes.[5] It should be noted that Joan's third marriage is not documented by Richardson in Magna Carta Ancestry.
