About Wenzel, Godfrey Harold. Godfrey Harold Wenzel was a Farmer and Mine Foreman later in the RAAF. Personnel files Service No: 81776. Godfrey and Eva came to Western Australia on 7 Nov 1927 to work on Uncle Norman's diary in South Australia, after they lost their son when the local midwife misdiagnosed malnutrition. The poor little fella wasn't getting enough breast milk even though Eva went back several times seeking advice, she was told to go home and not to be a paranoid new mother. After leaving the Air Force he stayed in Ororroo in South Australia. He met and lived with Mrs. Gill till he died of lung cancer in the Glenelg hospital in Adelaide on 18 June 1974 and is buried at the Cheltenham cemetery in South Australia
