Edward Werner was born 21 Oct 1894. He was the son of Christ Werner and Matilda Nanke. Given his census and draft records and close proximity in age to his brother August, he most likely was born in Nowograd-Wolynski (Zwiahel/Novohrad-Volynskyi), Novohrad-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr, Ukraine. His birth record is still being located.

Edward immigrated in 1912 to the United States with his father, Christoph Werner, and his mother, Matilda, along with his older brother August.

He married Christena Weiss in 1920. They had one child who passed away in infancy.

He passed away after a lengthy illness in 1961 in Greeley, Colorado.
